Fire at goat farm causes loss of Rs 6 million



KATHMANDU: Forty goats were burnt in a fire that occurred at a goat farm of Devibasti in Buddhashanti Rural Municipality-4 here last night. It caused a loss of Rs 6 million.

Even the food grains for the goat turned into ashes. The fire broke out at the farm run solely by Jyoti Bimal. He had reared the goats of Boer species, according to Information Officer at District Police Office, Rakesh Thapa.

It took two hours to extinguish the fire by the engines mobilized from Birtamod and Bhadrapur along with Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and locals.

A huge amount of feed was destroyed in the blaze, the police added. The place of the incident lies in the villages located four km north of Budhabare bazaar. The Area Police Office Budhabare has intensified the investigation on the cause of the fire. RSS
