KATHMANDU: The government has scrapped the existing 7-day-mandatory quarantine provision for the tourists visiting Nepal.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu, on Thursday, decided to revoke the prevalent provision of 7-day-mandatory quarantine as per the demand of the tourism entrepreneurs.
However, the tourists should have either been inoculated against COVID-19 or have got a coronavirus negative report issued within 72 hours to be eligible to visit Nepal.
The tourism entrepreneurs have been demanding to annul the aforementioned provision claiming it is discouraging to the tourists.
Likewise, the meeting has also decided to provide on-arrival visa from the Tribhuvan International Airport.
