KATHMANDU: A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) is taking place today two weeks after the seventh house session that began following its reinstatement by the Supreme Court (SC).
Second rung leaders of the parties represented in the federal parliament will express their views in today’s meeting, according to the parliament secretariat.
UML lawmaker Bishal Bhattarai informed that his party’s Spokesperson and Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali will put forth his views in the meeting today. The leaders recommended by their parties are expressing their views, according to parliament secretariat.
The HoR’s first meeting held on March 7, had been postponed following the protest by the disgruntled faction of ruling CPN-UML and opposition parties. The subsequent meetings were concluded by passing a condolence motion.
Meanwhile, a lawmaker of main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has registered three proposals of public importance at the parliament secretariat.
As many as 38 different bills are sub judice in the HoR and thematic committees. Bills related to Civil Servants and Citizenship have been gathering dust for the last two and a half years.
Opposition lawmakers have been demanding that they should be allowed to speak on contemporary issues during zero and special hours.
