Four Nepali women honored with Australia Award

KATHMANDU: Four Nepali women have been honored with the Australia Award.

They have been honored for their contribution to the field of COVID-19 prevention and gender equality.

Recipients of the award include Latika Maskey Pradhan, Assistant Representative at United Nations Population Fund,  Dr Anusuya Joshi, Senior Environmental and Social Safeguard Expert at the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC), Meena Thapa, Nutrition Officer and COVID-19 focal point for UNICEF’s Field Office in Bhairahawa, and Shanti Barmashkha, Program Manager at Nepal’s National Dalit Social Welfare Organisation.

According to Australian Ambassador to Nepal Felicity Volk, the award was presented on the occasion of the 111th International Women’s Day.
