1,351 new cases reported across county, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally reaches 74,745



KATHMANDU: The country on Monday recorded a total of 1,351 new cases of coronavirus infection while 742 infected ones got complete recovery from the virus, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

So far, altogether 54,640 people won the battle against the virus.

With this, the number of coronavirus infected tally reached 74,745 in the country, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said in a daily press briefing this afternoon.

Nepal performed 10,080 tests in the last 24 hours.

He shared that the country now has altogether 19,624 active cases of coronavirus disease.

Likewise, Dr. Gautam said that 8,695 individuals are in institutional isolation facilities while 10,929 individuals are in home isolation.

Likewise, there are 6,310 persons in quarantines.

Moreover, the number of people receiving treatment at ICU stands at 225, while 31 are on ventilator support.

According to the Ministry of Health, 15 persons are undergoing treatment in ICU in Province 1, 20 in Province 2, 121 in Bagmati Province, six in Gandaki Province, 44 in Province 5 and 19 in Karnali Province.

Spokesperson  Dr. Gautam also said that three in Province 1, 26 in Bagmati and two in Province 5 are on the ventilator support.

Similarly, four people died of the virus in the past 24 hours including five in Kathmandu, Dr. Gautam said. With the recent data, the number of coronavirus-caused deaths reached 481 in the country.

There are more than 500 coronavirus active cases in Morang, Siraha, Chitwan, Rupandehi, Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts while seven districts have zero cases of the virus-Dolpa, Manang, Humla, Mugu and Mustang.
