KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has objected to the abrupt end of the ongoing session of the federal Parliament.
The main opposition said that it has taken prorogation seriously stating that the parliamentary session was abruptly terminated without following the established procedure of convening and concluding the session.
A statement issued by NC Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma said that it was unfortunate that the session was ended without reaching a definite conclusion on the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and other important bills.
NC has termed the end of the parliamentary session as the effect of the internal dispute of the ruling Nepal Communist Party.
“It is not only sad but also objectionable that the conflict within the ruling party has affected the Parliament session. At a time when the coronavirus pandemic has claimed many lives and infected thousands in the country, it was imperative for the entire Parliament to take a common vision and move forward with a revised strategy,” reads the statement.
