Govt sets 7 percent economic growth target



KATHMANDU: The government led by Prime Minister Balendra Shah has set a target of 7 percent economic growth for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84.

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle announced the ambitious target while presenting the new budget, which also sets an economic growth goal of 6 percent for the current fiscal year.

Meanwhile, the National Statistics Office has projected that economic growth this year will remain at just 3.85 percent.
