Lipulekh voters from Chhangru and Tinkar to cast ballots at district headquarters

DARCHULA: Ahead of the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5, two temporary polling centers have been set up in Darchula. The District Election Office has announced that these centers, located at the district headquarters in Khalanga, are specifically for voters from Chhangru (Byas Rural Municipality-1) and Tinkar village.

Chief Election Officer Bhuvan Giri explained that due to the geographical isolation and seasonal challenges in these areas, many voters from Chhangru and Tinkar are currently residing in Khalanga. To facilitate their participation, temporary polling stations have been arranged in the town.

According to Giri, Chhangru voters will cast their ballots at Kailashpati Basic School, while Tinkar voters will vote at Moti Mahila Sangh Basic School. There are 375 registered voters at Kailashpati and 244 at Moti Mahila Sangh. For comparison, in the previous election (2079 BS), Chhangru had 383 registered voters and Tinkar had 234.

Chief Election Officer Giri confirmed that local elections have previously been conducted successfully in these areas, and preparations are underway to ensure smooth voting for the upcoming election.
