TANAHUN: Four residents of Bhimad, Tanahun, who had travelled to Gosaikunda for a pilgrimage, have made contact with their families.
The four, Narayan Marasini, Balkrishna Pokhrel, Sandesh Pokhrel and Ganesh Upreti of Bhimad-6, had travelled to Gosaikunda for the pilgrimage.
Chief District Officer Shivalal Tiwari confirmed that all four are safe and have been in contact with their families. He said authorities are continuing efforts to identify and ascertain the whereabouts of Tanahun residents who may have gone out of contact following the Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa.
According to CDO Tiwari, Sanjiv Gurung of Bhanu Municipality-1 remains out of contact. Gurung had travelled towards Timure with two others in connection with business.
Prem Sedhai of Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality-3, who works at the Customs Office, Rishing Rural Municipality-7 resident Dhan Bahadur Ale, who works at Rasuwagadhi Hydropower, and Binu Gurung of Shuklagandaki Municipality-12, Jaspur, are also reported to be out of contact.
Tiwari urged people whose family members or relatives have travelled to flood-affected areas including Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading and have not yet made contact to provide information immediately.
He requested that information about missing or out-of-contact individuals be reported to the District Administration Office, the nearest police office or the media to facilitate search and rescue efforts.
The chief district officer also urged everyone to support search, rescue and relief operations according to their respective roles and responsibilities during the difficult situation.
