Indefinite curfew still in effect in Rautahat’s Gaur

GAUR: An indefinite curfew remains in place in Gaur Municipality of Rautahat district today (Sunday), but authorities have allowed a two-hour relaxation from 6:30 am to 8:30 am for essential activities, the District Administration Office said.

Chief District Officer Dinesh Sagar Bhusal stated that while residents may carry out urgent daily tasks during the relaxation period, gatherings, meetings, rallies, and processions are strictly prohibited. The curfew will resume from 8:30 am until further notice.

The restricted zone covers the area from Mudbalwa Gate in the east to Lalbakaiya Dam in the west, Bam Canal in the north, and the Gaur Customs Office boundary in the south. Movement, assemblies, demonstrations, and public gatherings remain banned within this perimeter.

The curfew was imposed at 1 pm on Saturday following a dispute between members of the local community. Although the situation is now reported to be under control, the administration said the measure was extended to prevent any further escalation.

Authorities have warned that legal action will be taken against those who violate the curfew order and have appealed to residents to cooperate in maintaining peace and order.
