KAILALI: Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City has provided specialist health services to 27,839 people over the past eight months through its ward-level clinic programme.
The services were delivered free of cost under a scheme designed to support residents from rural and economically disadvantaged communities. According to programme resource person Krishna Bohara, women accounted for 20,875 of the total beneficiaries, while 6,964 were men.
The initiative involved medical teams including general physicians as well as specialists from Geta Eye Hospital and Dhangadhi Netralaya. During the period, 16,900 people received general medical consultations, 3,715 accessed gynecological services, and 7,224 underwent eye check-ups.
In addition to consultations, patients were also provided laboratory tests, ECG, and ultrasound services during the clinics, expanding access to basic diagnostic care at the local level.
