Marketing firm fined for violating consumer protection rules



KATHMANDU: The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection has imposed a fine on a marketing firm for breaching regulations.

Khilunga Kalika Marketing Pvt. Ltd., located in Suryabinayak-2, Bhaktapur, was fined Rs 50,000 after a field inspection revealed deficiencies in its operations. The action was taken in accordance with the Consumers’ Protection Act, 2075.

During the monitoring, a dozen other firms were also inspected and advised to improve their services. The inspections were carried out with the participation of consumer rights advocates and representatives from the local administration. The Department said it will continue regular market monitoring and take action against firms violating consumer protection standards.
