KATHMANDU: Gururaj Ghimire, general secretary of the Nepali Congress, has called on party members to begin preparations for the 15th general convention.
Speaking to journalists at the party’s central office in Sanepa on Friday, Ghimire emphasized the need for unity and organizational strengthening ahead of the convention.
He said the party possesses a strong ideological foundation, a rich historical legacy, and capable leadership, and stressed the importance of setting aside past disagreements and disputes to reinforce internal cohesion.
Ghimire urged leaders and cadres to avoid unnecessary debates and instead focus on shared goals to strengthen the organization.
Calling for immediate mobilization, he said the upcoming general convention should be seen as an opportunity to shape the party’s future direction.
He also expressed confidence that the party’s institutional history, contributions, and leadership capacity would guide it toward a positive path in the days ahead.
Underlining collaboration and coordination, Ghimire said unity remains the cornerstone of organizational consolidation.
