ANFA Women’s League kicks off in Kathmandu from Wednesday



 

KATHMANDU: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) is set to launch the Martyrs Memorial Women’s League in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

The league will continue until April 25 at Chyasal Ground in Lalitpur, with matches played in a single round-robin format, ANFA officials said.

Nine teams will participate in the league, including APF Football Club, Bagmati Youth Club, Church Boys United, Jhapa FC, New Road Team, Nepal Police Club, RS Resort & Beach Football, Sankata Club, and Tribhuvan Army FC.

Ahead of the opening match, a pre-match conference was held on Tuesday at the ANFA Complex, Satdobato. Coaches and captains of the participating teams said their players are well-prepared and plan to put pressure on opponents from the start to secure results.

The league’s opening match on Wednesday will see New Road Team face Sankata Club, followed by a clash between Tribhuvan Army FC and Jhapa FC later in the day.
