President Paudel urges public to ensure successful HoR election

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has called on all citizens to make the upcoming House of Representatives election successful.

Speaking at a felicitation program organized by the Nepal Sherpa Association Federal Committee at Sheetal Niwas on Tuesday to mark Gyalpo Lhosar, President Paudel stressed that elections are the proper means to reflect the people’s will in a democracy. The elections are scheduled for March 5.

The President highlighted that Nepal’s indigenous festivals play a key role in promoting harmony, unity, friendship, and brotherhood. He stressed that preserving Nepal’s cultural identity while strengthening national unity is a shared responsibility.

President Paudel also stated that good governance and prosperity are essential for sustaining peace, stability, and national unity in the country. He praised the Sherpa community for its unique traditions, culture, civilization, and identity, noting that it has contributed significantly to the prestige and pride of Nepal and its people.

He added that the Sherpa community, which has spread globally from Nepal’s Himalayan regions for centuries, has played an important role in enhancing not just its own community’s reputation but also that of Nepal and the Nepali people.

This year, Gyalpo Lhosar will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 18.
