Chitwan administration introduces new system to ensure transparent gas distribution

CHITWAN: The District Administration Office (DAO) Chitwan has introduced a new system to make the sale and distribution of LPG gas more systematic and transparent.

Following discussions with stakeholders on Friday, the administration decided to adopt a needs-based gas distribution system and intensify monitoring to control possible irregularities in the market.

According to a notice signed by Assistant Chief District Officer Chiranjibi Sharma, priority will be given to senior citizens above 75 years of age, persons with total disabilities, and students living in rented rooms.

The notice states that if people from these target groups face difficulties in obtaining gas, they can contact the District Administration Office through its toll-free number 1660-5652001.

As per the decision of Nepal Oil Corporation, gas producers and distributors are required to maintain clear records of the quantity of gas received and sold. These details must be submitted to the district administration office on a daily basis. The administration has warned that strict action will be taken if any irregularities are found in the records.

The administration has also urged consumers to purchase gas only from nearby sellers, avoid hoarding cylinders beyond their needs, and increase the use of electric stoves to help reduce gas shortages.

Consumers have been requested to report any information about gas hoarding or illegal sales through the toll-free number or the police hotline 100. The notice emphasized that cooperation from all stakeholders is essential to ensure fair and transparent gas distribution.
