RSP to hold orientation for newly elected lawmakers

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is set to organize an orientation program for its newly elected lawmakers.

The party will conduct the two-day orientation on Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to party General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, the program aims to inform the new members of parliament about their roles and responsibilities, as well as the party’s policies, vision and working approach. The orientation also seeks to ensure uniformity in the working style of the party’s lawmakers.

In the election held on March 5, the RSP secured close to a two-thirds public mandate. A total of 125 lawmakers were elected under the first-past-the-post system from the party, while 57 lawmakers have been recommended under the proportional representation system.

However, proportional representation lawmakers from all political parties have yet to receive their certificates from the Election Commission Nepal.
