CPN-UML finalizes 16 proportional representation MPs



KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has finalized the names of 16 proportional representation (PR) lawmakers to be recommended to the Election Commission.

The decision was taken at a secretariat meeting on Saturday at the residence of party chair KP Sharma Oli in Gundu, Bhaktapur, party deputy general secretary Lekhraj Bhatt confirmed.

The selected lawmakers represent various communities as per PR requirements:

Indigenous

  • Female: Bhumika Subba, Gangadevi Shrestha
  • Male: Rambahadur Thapa Magar, Kulbhakta Shakya

Khas Arya (5)

  • Female: Padma Aryal, Tukabhadra Hamal, Ashuda Kumari Baral
  • Male: Guru Prasad Baral, Pushparaj Kandel

Tharu (1)

  • Male: Kriparam Rana

Dalit (2)

  • Female: Bishnumaya BK, Nita Ghatani

Madhesi (3)

  • Female: Ringla Yadav, Yashodha Kumari Yadav
  • Male: Chandreshwar Mandal

Muslim

  • Female: Sajida Siddiqui

These nominations will now be formally submitted to the Election Commission for official approval.
