KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has confirmed that there is no disruption in the supply of LPG from India to Nepal.
Speaking at a press conference in Kathmandu on Friday, NOC spokesperson Manoj Kumar Thakur said gas has been supplied according to demand, and reports of shortages are misleading. He added that artificial stockpiling by consumers due to rumors has created the perception of scarcity in the market.
To manage this perceived shortage and ensure smooth distribution, the corporation has begun selling half-filled LPG cylinders temporarily. Thakur emphasized that the supply is sufficient and urged consumers not to store gas unnecessarily.
He also noted that while diesel and petrol prices are updated every 15 days, LPG and aviation fuel prices are revised monthly. Therefore, any adjustment in LPG prices will depend on the new official price list issued next month.
Until then, he reassured that gas supply continues to meet current demand, and there is no actual shortage in the market.
