SARLAHI: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Kumar Thapa has urged voters, especially the youth, to support NC in the upcoming elections, describing it as a “new party with legacy and renewed leadership.”
Speaking at a program in Dhankaul, Sarlahi, Thapa said, “If anyone wants to vote for a new party and leadership, that is Nepali Congress. The party carries its historic legacy while bringing in new policies and leadership.”
Thapa expressed optimism about the active involvement of the younger generation, particularly Gen-Z voters. “In the past, we wondered where the youth were, but today seeing so many in Dhankaul makes me very happy. I truly value their ideas and capabilities,” he said.
Highlighting the importance of education in strengthening the foundation of Madhesh, Thapa urged young voters to take an active role in mobilizing families and communities. “Education, health, and irrigation are the key challenges in Sarlahi and other districts of Madhesh. Youth must inform at least five families each about the Congress vision. I have given the same instructions to my team,” he said.
Thapa also said that NC’s upcoming election manifesto will include local demands from Sarlahi. “I am going to Kathmandu today to ensure Sarlahi’s issues are reflected in our manifesto. I will return to follow up,” he stated.
Highlighting NC’s combination of experience and enthusiasm to lead the country, Thapa said the party is ready to govern effectively. “We have prepared a ‘Project Government’ plan detailing what we would do if entrusted with leadership for the next five years. The responsibility to implement it rests with voters nationwide,” he said.
