Six injured in crane accident on Kaligandaki Corridor Road in Nawalparasi



NAWALPARASI: Six people were injured after a crane met with an accident along the Kaligandaki Corridor road section at Ranital in Gaidakot Municipality-4, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), on Wednesday night.

According to Superintendent of Police Yuvraj Khadka, the accident occurred when a crane bearing registration number Lu 1 Ka 4437, traveling from Dhodeni towards Gaidakot, suffered brake failure on a downhill stretch and crashed into a wall on the left side of the road.

The injured include the crane driver, 25-year-old Niraj Asrami Magar of Tansen Municipality, currently residing in Madhyabindu Municipality-11, as well as five passengers: 60-year-old Dil Bahadur Kumal, 27-year-old Nirmal Darai, 52-year-old Purna Prasad Darai, 53-year-old Arjun Bahadur Darai, and 50-year-old Amar Darai, all from Madhyabindu Municipality-11.

Police said all six injured individuals have been referred to a medical college in Bharatpur for treatment.

Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
