Gagan Thapa stresses need for digital governance to ease public service delivery

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has said that digital governance has become essential to end the hardships faced by citizens while accessing government services.

In a video message shared on social media on Wednesday morning, Thapa stated that citizens are often forced to stand in long queues for hours, while files move from one office to another, causing unnecessary delays in service delivery.

He noted that the traditional paper and file-based system has made it difficult for people to obtain government services and pledged to transform the system through the use of technology.

Thapa added the administrative structure must now be efficient and result-oriented.

“Governance style and working methods must change to make service delivery simple, swift, and citizen-friendly,” he said.

He further stated that the Nepali Congress is clearly committed to improving public service delivery through digital governance and addressing the problems faced by citizens.
