KATHMANDU: General discussions have begun in the House of Representatives (HoR) on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditures of the government for the fiscal year 2083/84.
In today’s meeting of the meeting, Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle had presented the proposal with statement seeking discussion on it.
On the occasion, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal informed that only theoretical discussion would be held on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure, while comprehensive discussion would take place on the ministry-wise programmes and plans under the Appropriation Bill.
He informed that four hours have been allocated for the discussion. MPs are participating in the general discussion on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year 2083/84.
Finance Minister Wagle is scheduled to respond to the queries raised during the discussion on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure in the meeting.
On the occasion, Speaker Aryal read out the letter received from the President’s Office regarding the reshuffle of the Council of Ministers and the letter received from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers regarding changes in portfolios.
The Speaker informed the House that members were nominated in the Business Advisory Committee and the names of members were changed in the thematic committees under the HoR. The House endorsed the changes.
In the meeting, Speaker Aryal mentioned that the ‘Alternative Development Finance Mobilization Bill, 2082’ has not been returned by the National Assembly within the constitutionally stated timeline. (RSS)
