RSP nears 4.95 million votes in PR tally; vote count crosses 10.29 million



KATHMANDU: The vote count under the proportional representation (PR) electoral system has reached 10,290,546 so far, according to the latest update from the Election Commission.

As of Tuesday morning, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has secured the highest number of votes, receiving 4,947,523 votes and maintaining a clear lead over other parties.

The Nepali Congress (NC) stands second with 1,673,983 votes, followed by the CPN-UML with 1,389,820 votes.

Similarly, the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has garnered 752,946 votes, while the Shram Sanskriti Party has received 347,785 votes. The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has obtained 322,472 votes so far.

Other parties trailing behind include the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal with 169,416 votes, the Rastriya Parivartan Party with 165,032 votes, and the Janamat Party with 75,471 votes.

The vote counting under the proportional representation system is still ongoing.

So far, six parties—RSP, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, NCP, Shram Sanskriti Party, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party—have crossed the required electoral threshold.

Meanwhile, results of all 165 constituencies under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system have already been announced.

Under the FPTP category, the Rastriya Swatantra Party has emerged as the largest winner with 125 seats, followed by the Nepali Congress with 18 seats, CPN-UML with nine seats, the Nepal Communist Party with eight seats, the Shram Sanskriti Party with three seats, and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party with one seat.
