Meet directly elected RSP faces entering the HoR



KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which has participated in only two elections so far, has come close to securing a majority in the direct elections in the March 5 polls. Out of 165 constituencies, the RSP has won 125 seats under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system.

Considering both the direct election results and the proportional representation votes being counted across the country, the RSP appears close to securing a two-thirds majority in the House of Representatives (HoR).

According to constitutional provisions, 138 seats are required to form a government in the 275-member House of Representatives. With its current performance, the RSP does not appear to face difficulty in reaching the majority threshold. Except for a few candidates, most of the winning leaders are young politicians under the age of 50.

These are some of the MPs elected through direct voting:

Balendra Shah: Balendra (Balen) Shah, the party’s prime ministerial candidate, won the election from Jhapa Constituency-5 with a commanding margin. He secured 68,348 votes, while his closest rival, KP Sharma Oli of CPN-UML, received 18,734 votes. Shah defeated Oli by 49,614 votes. The 35-year-old leader previously served as the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Indira Rana: Indira Rana, who was elected to Parliament through the proportional representation system in the 2022 elections, is a social activist and the founder of Bandi Sahayata Nepal, an organization supporting children of incarcerated mothers.

She previously served as Deputy Speaker. This time, contesting from Jhapa-2, Rana defeated former Speaker Devraj Ghimire, securing 60,110 votes, while Ghimire received 11,368 votes.

Ranju Darsana: Ranju Darsana, who won from Kathmandu-1, joined the RSP from the Bibeksheel Sajha Party.

Sunil KC: Sunil KC, elected from Kathmandu-2, joined the RSP after previously being associated with the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).

Rajunath Pandey: Rajunath Pandey, elected from Kathmandu-3, is a former Kathmandu Metropolitan Police chief.

Pukar Bam: Pukar Bam won from Kathmandu-4. A former Bibeksheel Sajha leader, he secured victory on his third attempt.

Sasmit Pokharel: Sasmit Pokharel won from Kathmandu-5. He previously worked in the secretariat of Balendra Shah and was also associated with Bibeksheel Sajha.

Shishir Khanal: Shishir Khanal won from Kathmandu-6. A former social activist, he also won from the same constituency in the 2022 election and previously served as Minister of Education.

Ganesh Parajuli: Ganesh Parajuli, elected from Kathmandu-7, comes from a business background and also won the seat in the 2022 election.

Biraj Bhakta Shrestha: Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, elected from Kathmandu-8, also has a business background. He previously served as a Bagmati Province Assembly member from Bibeksheel Sajha in 2074 BS.

DP Aryal: RSP Vice President DP Aryal won from Kathmandu-9 with 35,093 votes. His nearest rival, Nanumaiya Bastola of Nepali Congress, received 5,460 votes, while Ajay Kranti Shakya of CPN-UML received 4,580 votes. Aryal, a former manpower entrepreneur, had previously been elected to Parliament through the proportional system in the 2022 election and later served as Minister of Labour. He is also a close associate of Rabi Lamichhane.

Pradeep Bista: Pradeep Bista won Kathmandu-10 representing the RSP. He is also known for his business background.

Buddharatna Maharjan: Buddharatna Maharjan won from Lalitpur-3, securing 23,363 votes, defeating Udaya Shumsher Rana of Nepali Congress, who received 13,520 votes.

Jagadish Kharel: Jagadish Kharel, elected from Lalitpur-2, previously served as Minister of Communications in the interim government. A former journalist, he joined the RSP ahead of the election.

Dr. Toshima Karki: Dr. Toshima Karki won from Lalitpur-3. She had also won from the same constituency in the 2022 election.

Rukesh Ranjit: Rukesh Ranjit won Bhaktapur-1 with 33,436 votes, breaking a long-standing stronghold of the communist parties.

Rajiv Khatri: Former journalist Rajiv Khatri won Bhaktapur-2 with 42,334 votes.

Sobita Gautam: Sobita Gautam, who was elected from Kathmandu-2 in the 2022 election, won this time from Chitwan-3 with 59,266 votes. Her nearest rival, Renu Dahal, received 20,615 votes.

Rabi Lamichhane: Rabi Lamichhane, who won for the third time from Chitwan-2, secured 54,402 votes. His nearest rival, Munakumari Kharel of Nepali Congress, received 14,564 votes.

Hari Dhakal: Hari Dhakal, elected from Chitwan-1, had also won from the same constituency in 2022. This time he secured 58,208 votes, defeating Rajendra Prasad Burlakoti of Nepali Congress, who received 13,033 votes.

Sunil Lamsal: Sunil Lamsal, who won from Rupandehi-1, secured 54,845 votes. His closest rival, Hira Bahadur Khatri of Nepali Congress, received 12,447 votes. Lamsal is entering Parliament for the first time.

Sulabh Kharel: Sulabh Kharel won the election from Rupandehi-2, defeating five-time Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel of CPN-UML. Kharel, a lawyer by profession, secured 56,550 votes, while Poudel received 12,861 votes.

Dr. Lekhjung Thapa: Neurologist Dr. Lekhjung Thapa was elected from Rupandehi-3 with 58,814 votes. His nearest rival, Sunil Gurung of Nepali Congress, received 8,434 votes.

Lal Bikram Thapa: Lal Bikram Thapa won from Sunsari-2, securing 57,338 votes. His nearest rival, Rajiv Koirala, received 16,071 votes. Thapa is entering the House of Representatives for the first time.

Badan Kumar Bhandari: Badan Kumar Bhandari won from Kavre-2 with 53,344 votes. His closest rival, Madhu Prasad Acharya of Nepali Congress, secured 17,868 votes. The 33-year-old leader is entering parliamentary politics for the first time.

Rajan Gautam: Rajan Gautam, who won from Nawalpur-1, secured 50,945 votes. His nearest rival, Balkrishna Ghimire of Nepali Congress, received 16,253 votes. The 39-year-old leader is also entering Parliament for the first time.

Thakur Singh Tharu: Thakur Singh Tharu, a leader from the Tharu community, won the election from Bardiya-1 with 49,630 votes. His nearest rival, Shalikram Adhikari of CPN-UML, received 14,643 votes.

Rajkishore Mahato: Rajkishore Mahato, 51, won from Dhanusha-4 with 48,270 votes. His nearest rival, Mahendra Yadav of Nepali Congress, received 15,809 votes. Mahato has entered parliamentary politics for the first time.

Ashok Kumar Chaudhary: Ashok Kumar Chaudhary, 42, won from Sunsari-3 with 47,421 votes. His nearest rival, Bijay Kumar Gachhadar of Nepali Congress, received 20,501 votes. In the 2079 election, Chaudhary had been elected to Parliament through the proportional representation system from the Rastriya Swatantra Party.

Narendra Shah Kalwar: Narendra Shah Kalwar, 53, won from Sarlahi-3 with 46,890 votes. His nearest rival, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, received 1,338 votes. Kalwar is entering parliamentary politics for the first time, defeating a prominent political figure.

Nisha Dangi: Nisha Dangi, elected from Jhapa-1, was a proportional representation MP in the 2079 election and the youngest MP at the time. Now 29, she won with 45,680 votes, defeating Keshav Raj Pandey of Nepali Congress, who received 10,550 votes.

Prakash Pathak: Former journalist Prakash Pathak won from Jhapa-3, defeating Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Rajendra Lingden. The 37-year-old Pathak secured 38,674 votes, while Lingden received 17,994 votes.

Shambhu Prasad Dhakal: Former security personnel Shambhu Prasad Dhakal won from Jhapa-4 with 43,631 votes. His rival, Lal Prasad Sawa Limbu of CPN-UML, secured 11,908 votes.

Bikram Khanal: Bikram Khanal, 55, won from Nawalparasi-1 with 45,241 votes, defeating Binod Chaudhary of Nepali Congress, who received 9,502 votes. Khanal, a well-known Nepali billionaire, is entering parliamentary politics for the first time.

Narendra Kumar Gupta: Narendra Kumar Gupta won from Nawalparasi-2 with 45,241 votes, defeating Bhim Bahadur Thapa Chhetri of Nepali Congress, who received 15,954 votes. At 51, he is also entering Parliament for the first time.

Devraj Pathak: Devraj Pathak, 60, won from Dang-1 with 42,602 votes, defeating Yogendra Chaudhary of Nepali Congress, who secured 15,280 votes.

Bipin Kumar Acharya: Bipin Kumar Acharya, 39, was elected from Dang-2 with 43,822 votes, defeating CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel.

Kamal Subedi: Kamal Subedi, 38, won the election from Dang-3, securing 44,248 votes. He defeated Nepali Congress candidate Deepak Giri, who received 16,453 votes.

Nitima Bhandari Karki: Nitima Bhandari Karki was elected from Sarlahi-1 with 44,181 votes. Entering parliamentary politics for the first time, she defeated Nepali Congress candidate Shambhulal Shrestha, who secured 7,871 votes.

Rabin Mahato: Rabin Mahato, 38, won the election from Sarlahi-2 with 42,512 votes. He defeated Mahendra Ray Yadav, a long-time Madhesh politician from the Nepal Communist Party, who received 8,523 votes.

Ram Binod Yadav: Rambinod Yadav, 49, was elected from Dhanusha Constituency No. 2 with 41,637 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Dinesh Prasad Yadav, secured 10,118 votes. Rambinod is entering parliamentary politics for the first time.

Manish Jha: Manish Jha, a 45-year-old leader and party spokesperson who previously served as an MP through the proportional representation system in the 2022 elections, won the election from Dhanusha-3 with 43,978 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Bimalendra Nidhi received 16,652 votes.

Manish Khanal: Manish Khanal, 26, is considered the youngest leader to win an election from the Rastriya Swatantra Party. A student leader, he secured 41,347 votes, defeating his nearest rival Tilak Bahadur Mahat of CPN-UML, who received 15,755 votes. Khanal is regarded as the youngest MP in the current House of Representatives.

Bablu Gupta: Bablu Gupta, 28, who resigned as Sports Minister of the interim government, was elected from Siraha-1 with 41,322 votes. His closest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Ram Sundar Chaudhary, secured 9,774 votes.

Ganesh Dhimal: Ganesh Dhimal, 43, won the election from Bara Constituency No. 1. He defeated Nepali Congress candidate Shambhu Prasad Budhathoki, who received 14,223 votes.

Chandan Kumar Singh: Chandan Kumar Singh, 42, was elected from Bara Constituency No. 2 with 35,590 votes. He defeated Ram Kishore Prasad Yadav of the Janata Samajwadi Party, who secured 14,116 votes.

Arvindra Shah: Bijay Arvind Shah, 41, won the election from Bara Constituency No. 3 with 40,697 votes. He defeated Nepali Congress candidate Farmullah Mansur, who received 10,052 votes.

Rahbar Ansari: Rahbar Ansari, 39, left the CPN-Maoist Centre and resigned from his position as a Madhesh Province MP before entering parliamentary politics. He won from Bara Constituency No. 4 with 41,200 votes, defeating CPN-UML candidate Krishna Kumar Shrestha, who received 11,629 votes.

Khadkaraj Poudel: Khadkaraj Poudel, 46, won the election from Kaski Constituency No. 1 with 39,883 votes. He defeated Nepali Congress candidate Tilak Bahadur Ranabhat, who secured 11,214 votes.

Shivashankar Yadav: Shivshankar Yadav, 30, won the election from Siraha-2 with 39,561 votes. He defeated Nepali Congress candidate Ramchandra Yadav, who received 12,814 votes.

Ashika Tamang: Ashika Tamang, 37, a social activist, won the election from Dhading-1, defeating candidates from major parties Nepali Congress and CPN-UML. Senior CPN leader Rajendra Pandey finished third. Tamang secured 39,128 votes, while UML candidate Bhumi Prasad Tripathi received 15,031 votes.

Taufiq Ahmed Khan: Taufiq Ahmed Khan, 38, won the election from Rupandehi-5 with 38,806 votes. His nearest rival, CPN-UML candidate Khimlal Bhattarai, secured 13,100 votes.

Pushpa Kumari Chaudhary: Pushpa Kumari Chaudhary, 36, a social activist, won from Saptari Constituency No. 1 with 38,195 votes. Her nearest rival, Sumit Kumar of the Swabhiman Party, received 7,847 votes.

Dr. Swarnim Wagle: Swarnim Wagle, 51, an economist, won the by-election from Tanahun-1 with 38,040 votes, becoming an MP for the second time. Nepali Congress candidate Govinda Bhattarai secured 16,231 votes.

Bina Gurung: Bina Gurung, 53, won the election from Kaski-2 with 37,750 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Manoj Gurung received 12,780 votes.

Ganesh Poudel: Ganesh Poudel, 43, was elected from Rautahat Constituency No. 4 with 36,876 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Devi Prasad Timalsina secured 15,865 votes.

Sitaram Sah: Sitaram Sah, 65, won the election from Saptari Constituency No. 4 with 36,412 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Tejulal Chaudhary received 13,103 votes.

Tapeshwor Yadav: Tapeshwor Yadav, 33, was elected from Siraha-4 with 36,110 votes. His opponent, Ajay Shankar Nayak of the Nepal Communist Party, secured 7,972 votes.

Prakash Gautam: Prakash Gautam, 37, won the election from Makawanpur-1 with 36,033 votes. His opponent, Nepali Congress candidate Mahalaxmi Upadhyaya Dina, received 14,038 votes.

Dr. Amaresh Kumar Singh: Dr. Amresh Kumar Singh, 55, won the election from Sarlahi Constituency No. 4 with 34,678 votes. Singh, who had won as a Nepali Congress candidate in 2074 BS and as an independent in 2079 BS, defeated Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa, who received 22,831 votes.

Hari Prasad Bhusal: Hari Prasad Bhusal, 37, won the election from Arghakhanchi-1 with 35,023 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Pitamber Bhusal, secured 22,649 votes.

Pramod Kumar Mahato: Pramod Kumar Mahato, 40, won the election from Mahottari-1 with 34,636 votes. His rival, Girirajmani Pokharel of the Nepal Communist Party, received 12,624 votes. Mahato entered the House of Representatives for the first time.

Mohanlal Acharya: Mohanlal Acharya, 53, won the election from Kapilvastu-1 with 34,148 votes. His nearest rival, independent candidate Ashish Sharma, secured 15,860 votes.

Deepak Raj Bohara: Deepak Raj Bohara, 38, a close aide to party president Rabi Lamichhane, won the election from Kanchanpur-2 with 33,952 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress leader NP Saud, received 10,827 votes.

Dharmaraj KC: Dharmaraj KC, 45, won the election from Lamjung-1 with 33,898 votes. He defeated CPN-UML Vice President Prithvi Subba Gurung, who secured 16,876 votes.

Amarkant Chaudhary: Amarkant Chaudhary, 44, was elected from Saptari-3 with 32,875 votes. He defeated Janata Samajwadi Party leader Upendra Yadav, who received 15,241 votes.

Suresh Kumar Chaudhary: Suresh Kumar Chaudhary, 56, won the election from Banke-1 with 32,792 votes.

Deepak Kumar Shah: Deepak Kumar Shah, 34, was elected from Mahottari-2 with 32,622 votes. He defeated Janata Samajwadi Party leader Sharat Singh Bhandari, who has served as a minister multiple times.

Shreeram Neupane: Shriram Neupane, 56, won the election from Tanahun Constituency No. 2 with 32,687 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Shankar Bhandari, secured 24,134 votes.

Ujjwal Kumar Jha: Ujjwal Kumar Jha, 33, won the election from Mahottari-3 with 32,451 votes. His nearest rival, Mohammad Rizwan of the Nepal Federal Socialist Party, secured 5,959 votes.

Jagadish Kharel: Jagadish Kharel, 36, of the National Independent Party, won the election from Dolakha-1 with 32,376 votes. His nearest rival, CPN-UML candidate Parbat Gurung, secured 17,449 votes.

Shambhu Kumar Yadav: Shambhu Kumar Yadav, 41, won the election from Siraha Constituency No. 3. His nearest rival, CPN-UML candidate Lilanath Shrestha, secured 10,156 votes.

Achyutam Lamichhane: Achyutam Lamichhane, 48, left his media career to enter politics and won the election from Nuwakot-2 with 32,054 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Jagadish Narsingh KC received 15,503 votes.

Ananda Bahadur Chand: Ananda Bahadur Chand, 50, won the election from Kailali-5 with 31,953 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Narayan Shah, secured 11,558 votes.

Uttam Prasad Poudel:
Uttam Prasad Poudel, 43, who also left the media to enter politics, won the election from Kaski-2 with 31,911 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Madhav Prasad Bastola, received 7,493 votes.

Sunil Kumar Kanu: Sunil Kumar Kanu, 36, won the election from Parsa-2 with 30,740 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Ajay Kumar Chaurasia, secured 11,890 votes.

Parasmani Gelal: Parasmani Gelal, 40, won the election from Udayapur-1 with 30,590 votes. His nearest rival, Rajesh Kumar Rai of the Shram Sanskriti Party, secured 11,606 votes.

Ramesh Kumar Sapkota: Ramesh Kumar Sapkota, 43, was elected from Surkhet-2 with 30,378 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Narayan Kumar Koirala, secured 16,196 votes.

Gauri Kumari: Gauri Kumari, 54, won the election from Mahottari-4 with 30,132 votes. Her nearest rival, Surendra Kumar Yadav of the Janata Samajwadi Party, secured 8,744 votes.

Prashant Upreti: Prashant Upreti, 25, won the election from Makawanpur-2. His nearest rival, CPN-UML candidate Mahesh Kumar Bartaula, secured 18,846 votes.

Ramakant Prasad Chaurasiya: Ramakant Prasad Chaurasia, 57, won the election from Parsa-3 with 29,069 votes. His closest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Surendra Chaudhary, secured 16,366 votes.

Shreedhar Pokharel: Shreedhar Pokharel, 53, won the election from Bardiya-2 with 29,678 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Kishor Singh Rathore, secured 20,402 votes.

Sagar Dhakal: Sagar Dhakal, 34, who had previously contested against Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba from Dadeldhura in the 2079 elections, won the election from Gulmi with 29,642 votes. His nearest rival, CPN-UML candidate Pradeep Gyawali, secured 15,181 votes.

Madhu Kumar Chaulagain: Madhu Kumar Chaulagain, 56, was elected from Kavre-1 with 29,618 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Gunaraj Moktan, secured 19,166 votes.

Khagendra Sunar: Khagendra Sunar, 35, a Dalit activist, won the election with 29,551 votes. His nearest rival, CPN-UML candidate Suman Malla, secured 19,615 votes. Sunar gained prominence through the campaign “Dalitlai Khoi.”

Dhananjay Regmi: Dhananjay Regmi, 50, was elected from Syangja-1 with 29,071 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Bharatraj Dhakal, secured 18,857 votes.

Rajesh Kumar Chaudhary: Rajesh Kumar Chaudhary, 54, won the election from Rautahat-1 with 28,946 votes. His nearest rival, Ajay Kumar Gupta, secured 10,693 votes.

Khemraj Koirala: Khemraj Koirala, 48, was elected from Kailali-4 with 28,556 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Gorakh Bahadur Bista, secured 11,301 votes.

Ramji Yadav: Ramji Yadav, 30, won the election from Saptari-2 with 28,404 votes. His nearest rival, Janata Samajwadi Party candidate Umesh Kumar Yadav, secured 14,263 votes.

Kanhaiya Baniya: Kanhaiya Baniya, 36, won the election from Rupandehi-4 with 28,066 votes. His nearest rival, CPN-UML candidate Pramod Kumar Yadav, secured 20,262 votes.

Tek Bahadur Shakya: Tek Bahadur Shakya, 50, won the election from Parsa-4 with 28,006 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Ramesh Riza, secured 12,534 votes.

Bikram Thapa: Bikram Thapa, 63, was elected from Kapilvastu-2 with 27,335 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Surendra Raj Acharya, secured 21,527 votes. Thapa is a former SSP of the Nepal Police.

Sushant Bhatkal: Sushant Bhatkal, 31, won the election from Pyuthan-1 with 27,459 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Dr. Govinda Raj Pokharel, secured 18,338 votes. Bhatkal enjoys strong support among youth voters.

Rabindra Patel: Rabindra Patel, 48, won the election from Rautahat-3 with 27,318 votes. His nearest rival, Govinda Chaudhary of the Janata Samajwadi Party, secured 11,954 votes.

Buddhi Prasad Panta: Buddhi Prasad Panta, 46, won the election from Parsa-1 with 27,274 votes. His nearest rival, CPN-UML candidate and former minister Pradeep Rai Yadav, secured 13,030 votes.

Gyanendra Singh Mahata: Gyanendra Singh Mahata, 40, won the election from Kanchanpur-3 with 27,118 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Hari Prasad Bohora secured 9,043 votes.

Madhav Kumar Thapa:
Madhav Kumar Thapa, 45, was elected from Palpa-2 with 26,736 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Himananda Shrestha, secured 12,092 votes.

Kabindra Burlakoti: Kabindra Burlakoti, 46, General Secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, won the election from Gorkha-2 with 26,660 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Prakash Dawadi, secured 11,700 votes.

Sagar Bhusal: Sagar Bhusal, 44, was elected from Parbat-1 with 26,561 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Arjun Prasad Joshi, secured 15,954 votes.

Bodh Narayan Shrestha: Bodh Narayan Shrestha, 56, won the election from Dhading-2 with 26,145 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Ramesh Prasad Dhamala, secured 20,279 votes.

Jhabilal Dumre: Jhabilal Dumre, 33, won the election from Syangja-2 with 25,354 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Bhagwat Prakash Malla, secured 20,830 votes.

Krishna Hari Budhathoki: Krishna Hari Budhathoki, 44, won the election from Ramechhap-1. His nearest rival, CPN-UML candidate Madhav Prasad Dhungel, secured 17,609 votes.

Bharat Prasad Parajuli: Bharat Prasad Parajuli, 57, won the election from Sindhupalchowk-1 with 24,412 votes. His nearest rival, former Nepal Communist Party MP Madhav Sapkota, secured 17,317 votes. Sapkota had won the same constituency in the 2079 BS election.

Janak Singh Dhami: Janak Singh Dhami, 55, won the election from Kanchanpur-1 with 24,332 votes. He defeated Bina Magar of the CPN-Maoist Centre, the daughter-in-law of party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal. Magar secured 11,110 votes.

Bikram Timalsina: Bikram Timalsina, 43, won the election from Nuwakot-1 with 22,609 votes. He defeated senior Nepali Congress leader Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, who secured 18,517 votes.

Harimohan Bhandari: Harimohan Bhandari won the election from Baitadi with 22,134 votes. He defeated CPN-UML leader Damodar Bhandari and Nepali Congress candidate Chatur Bahadur Chand, who secured 18,194 votes.

Sushil Khadka: Sushil Khadka, 39, won the election from Baglung-1 with 20,927 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Shree Bahadur Rana, secured 11,944 votes.

Jagat Prasad Joshi: Jagat Prasad Joshi, 39, won the election from Kailali-3 with 20,359 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Communist Party candidate Birman Chaudhary, secured 11,983 votes.

Sudan Gurung: Gen-Z movement leader Sudan Gurung won the election from Gorkha-1 with 24,051 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Prem Kumar Khatri, secured 13,511 votes.

Bishwaraj Pokharel: Bishwaraj Pokharel, 59, a former police officer, won the election from Okhaldhunga-1 with 13,953 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Kumar Luintel, secured 13,948 votes. This is among the narrowest victory margins for the National Independent Party.

Som Sharma: Som Sharma, 34, was elected from Baglung-2 with 12,647 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Tekraj Poudel, secured 11,868 votes in a closely contested race.

Surya Bahadur Tamang: Surya Bahadur Tamang, 41, won the election from Udayapur-2 with 14,802 votes. His nearest rival, CPN-UML candidate Ambar Bahadur Rayamajhi, secured 7,648 votes.

Dhanendra Karki: Dhanendra Karki, 38, won the election from Sindhuli-1 with 16,659 votes. His nearest rival, CPN-UML candidate Pradeep Kumar Katuwal, secured 15,875 votes in a closely fought contest.

Govinda Panthi: Govinda Panthi, 51, won the election from Gulmi-2 with 16,967 votes. He narrowly defeated CPN-UML Vice President Gokarna Bista, who secured 16,406 votes.

Komal Gyawali: Komal Gyawali, 47, won the election from Kailali-1 with 17,826 votes. Her nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Janakraj Chaudhary, secured 12,867 votes.

Ashish Gajurel: Ashish Gajurel, 44, an engineer by profession, was elected from Sindhuli-2 with 17,940 votes. Nepal Communist Party candidate Lekhnath Dahal secured 14,780 votes.

KP Khanal: KP Khanal, 26, won the election from Kailali-2 with 19,057 votes. His nearest rival, Nagarik Unmukti Party candidate Patiram Chaudhary, secured 11,949 votes. Khanal is considered close to Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah.

Tara Prasad Joshi: Tara Prasad Joshi, 54, won the election from Dadeldhura-1 with 19,131 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Nain Singh Mahar, secured 12,121 votes.

Deepak Kumar Sah: Deepak Kumar Sah, 49, won the election from Sunsari-4 with 42,771 votes. He defeated senior Nepali Congress leader Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, who secured 16,587 votes.

Yagyamani Neupane: Yagyamani Neupane, 41, a lawyer by profession, won the election from Morang-1 with 27,306 votes. His nearest rival, Shanti Pakhrin Lama of the Shram Sanskriti Party, secured 17,522 votes.

Krishna Kumar Karki: Krishna Kumar Karki, 40, won the election from Morang-3 with 40,924 votes. His nearest rival, CPN-UML candidate Dilip Kumar Agrawal, secured 25,624 votes.

Ganesh Karki: Ganesh Karki, 40, won the election from Morang Constituency No. 3 with 36,924 votes. He defeated prominent Nepali Congress leader Sunil Kumar Sharma, who secured 24,354 votes.

Santosh Rajbanshi: Santosh Rajbanshi, 34, won the election from Morang-4 with 40,833 votes. A former journalist, he defeated Nepali Congress General Secretary Gururaj Ghimire, who secured 12,818 votes.

Asha Jha: Asha Jha, 42, won the election from Morang-5 with 30,434 votes. She defeated Nepali Congress candidate Phul Kumar Lalbani, who secured 9,415 votes.

Rubina Acharya: Rubina Acharya won the election from Morang-6 with 55,513 votes. She defeated Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala, who secured 12,850 votes.
