2,392 drivers penalised for traffic rule violations in last 24 hours



KATHMANDU: A total of 2,392 drivers were taken into action for violating traffic rules across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the traffic police.

The action has generated a revenue of Rs 2,192,500 for the state treasury, the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office said.

Among those penalised were 92 motorists caught driving under the influence of alcohol, 171 involved in illegal ride-sharing operations, 151 for violating traffic signals, and 145 for speeding.

Similarly, 56 drivers were booked for lane discipline violations, 145 for honking in prohibited areas, 151 for parking on sidewalks, and 159 for driving on one-way roads.

In addition, 1,394 drivers were fined for other various traffic rule violations, bringing the total to 2,392 individuals penalised within the 24-hour period.
