Farewell to election police in Kathmandu Valley on Thursday



KATHMANDU: Election police deployed in the Kathmandu Valley for the March 5 House of Representatives election will be given a farewell on Thursday.

Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki said that 3,854 election police were deployed in Kathmandu, 1,093 in Bhaktapur, and 1,596 in Lalitpur to ensure election security.

“Security arrangements were coordinated among the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force Nepal, and other security agencies to maintain a peaceful environment in the Kathmandu Valley throughout the election period,” Karki said.

He added that the police deputed during the election performed their duties with full responsibility, contributing to the smooth conduct of the electoral process.
