Butwal–Narayangadh road section obstructed after rain makes damaged stretch slippery

KATHMANDU: The Butwal–Narayangadh road section has been obstructed after rainfall made a damaged stretch of road slippery in the Daunne area.

The disruption occurred at Daunne in Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-2 after the road surface at a subsided section became slippery due to rain, causing difficulties for vehicles since Sunday morning.

According to Nawalparasi District Police Office (Bardaghat Susta East), vehicles have been unable to move smoothly since around 10 am.

Superintendent of Police Yubaraj Khadka said around 100 to 150 vehicles have been stranded on both sides of the road.

“Vehicles have faced difficulties moving after the road became slippery around 10 am,” Khadka said, adding that dozens of vehicles remain lined up on both sides of the road.

Authorities said continuous drizzle has made it difficult to immediately reopen the road. Security personnel and the road project team are working to clear the obstruction and resume traffic.
