Ministers receive briefing on foreign affairs and diplomatic conduct



KATHMANDU: The government has provided a briefing on foreign affairs and diplomatic conduct to members of the federal Cabinet.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a session on Foreign Affairs and Diplomatic Code of Conduct for ministers of the government led by Prime Minister Balendra Shah.

The presentation was held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Wednesday, where Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai delivered a detailed briefing.

Rai briefed ministers on the global context, Nepal’s international relations, promotion of national interests, and the country’s overall foreign policy.

He also elaborated on the procedures, limitations, and diplomatic norms to be followed while conducting foreign policy, with special emphasis on policy priorities, maintaining balance in international relations, and technical aspects of diplomatic conduct.

The session further covered proper etiquette to be observed during meetings with foreign officials, along with adherence to diplomatic protocols.
