NAWALPARASI: One person died and another sustained serious injuries after a motorcycle collided with a truck in Devchuli Municipality-14, Pragatinagar of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West) along the Mahendra East-West Highway.
The deceased has been identified as 51-year-old Om Narayan Gurau of Madhyabindu Municipality-1. He died after the collision involving a truck (Na 5 Kha 1757) heading towards Narayangadh from Kawasoti late last night.
According to Superintendent of Police Yubaraj Khadka of the District Police Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West), the motorcycle rider, 26-year-old Indian national Bishal Kumar Srivastava, was critically injured in the accident. He is currently receiving treatment at Old Medical College in Chitwan.
Police have taken the truck and its driver under control for further investigation.
