Cabinet makes eight decisions on administration, diplomacy and policy matters



KATHMANDU: The government has made public various decisions taken by the Cabinet meeting held on Monday, including administrative, diplomatic, social and policy-related matters.

Minister for Information and Communications, Jagdish Kharel, who is also the government spokesperson, said the meeting endorsed eight key decisions.

According to Minister Kharel, the Cabinet decided to promote Om Bahadur Khadka, currently serving as Director of Investigation, to the post of Additional Chief Investigation Director at the National Investigation Department.

The meeting also nominated Kul Prasad Nyaupane as a member of the management committee responsible for asset management and liability settlement of problematic cooperatives.

In a social sector decision, the Cabinet approved a grant for the Gen Z Martyrs’ Family Welfare Society to run welfare programs for families of those who lost their lives during the Gen Z movement.

On diplomatic matters, the Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding between the Government of Nepal and the Government of Oman, as well as a labor agreement between Nepal and Israel.

The meeting also endorsed the Order on Mixing Ethanol in Petrol, 2082, and approved the Third Amendment to the Forest Regulation, 2082.

Additionally, the Cabinet decided to promote Ghanshyam Parajuli to the post of Deputy Auditor General under the Gazetted Special Class of the Nepal Audit Service.

Minister Kharel said the decisions were taken to strengthen governance, advance diplomatic cooperation, and improve policy implementation across sectors.
