Foreign Minister Khanal set to visit India after Rabi’s return

KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Sishir Khanal is scheduled to visit India soon after the return of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane from his ongoing visit.

Khanal is set to travel to India on June 6–7 at the official invitation of Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. The visit has been scheduled while Lamichhane is still in India for political engagements.

Deepak Bohara, a member of the RSP secretariat who is part of Lamichhane’s delegation, said that discussions during the Foreign Minister’s visit are expected to include a “checklist” of bilateral issues of mutual interest.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Khanal had met his Indian counterpart Jaishankar during the 9th Indian Ocean Conference held in Mauritius.
