2,093 drivers penalized for violating traffic rules



KATHMANDU: A total of Rs 2,736,501 in revenue was deposited into the state treasury over the past 24 hours through traffic enforcement actions.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 2,093 drivers were penalized for violating traffic regulations.

Among those booked, 92 were found driving under the influence of intoxicants, 169 were involved in unauthorized ride-sharing activities, 141 violated traffic signals, and 101 were caught speeding.

Similarly, action was taken against 82 drivers for failing to maintain lane discipline, 92 for unnecessary horn use in prohibited areas, 105 for roadside parking violations, and 129 for driving on one-way roads. In addition, 1,182 drivers were penalized for various other traffic-related offenses.

In total, 2,093 traffic rule violators were brought under legal action during the reporting period.
