KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has instructed the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the leadership of the National Sports Council (NSC) to ensure the 10th National Games are conducted effectively and within November.
Speaking during a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, Oli stressed the need to accelerate preparations, noting that the event would serve as a crucial precursor to the 2026 Asian Games scheduled to be held in Japan.
The Prime Minister, who also serves as the patron of the NSC, stressed the importance of setting the date and venue of the games based on careful study and ensuring that the decision, once made, is not altered.
“There should be no last-minute changes. Let’s be clear, firm, and coordinated,” Oli said, urging synergy between the ministry and the sports council.
Also present during the discussion were Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary, Ministry Secretary Dr. Hari Prasad Lamsal, NSC Vice President Dhruba Acharya, and Member Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising, among others.
