Light to moderate rain expected today



KATHMANDU: Nepal continues to experience cloudy, rainy, and snowy conditions due to the combined influence of westerly and local winds, along with moisture-laden air from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division,  the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy over the hilly regions of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, and Sudurpaschim Province. The rest of the country will see mainly clear to partly cloudy skies.

There is a chance of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in a few areas of the hilly regions, particularly in Koshi, Bagmati, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in one or two locations elsewhere this afternoon.

Light snowfall or rain is also possible in some high hilly and mountainous areas.

Tonight, similar conditions are expected. The weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, while other areas will see mostly clear to partly cloudy skies.

There is also a likelihood of light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in several areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and isolated spots in other provinces overnight.

Light rain or snowfall may occur at one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, the Division stated.
