Three killed as jeep falls off Madi bridge in Tanahun



POKHARA: Three people lost their lives and two others were injured after a jeep fell off the Madi bridge near Damauli in Tanahun.

The jeep (Ga 2 Cha 5760), traveling from Damauli to Chapaghat, plunged into the river around 11:30 pm on Saturday after breaking through the bridge railing, according to the District Police Office, Tanahun.

The deceased have been identified as Kushal Magar, Prabin Magar, and Kumar Magar, all residents of Byas Municipality-5.

Among the injured, drivers Rohit Gutta and Dhiraj Raunihar were seriously hurt; Raunihar was referred to Pokhara for further treatment after initial care, while Gutta remains admitted at Damauli Hospital.

There were five people in the jeep at the time of the accident. Police have stated that an investigation into the cause is ongoing.
