RPP meeting underway to discuss monarchist movement

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is currently taking place at the party office in Dhumbarahi.

The meeting, attended by former chair Pashupati Shamsher Jabra, Prakash Chandra Lohani, and other office bearers, is focused on discussing the ongoing monarchist movement and the current political developments in the country.

Chair Rajendra Lingden’s secretariat informed Khabarhub that the meeting will also lay out plans for the party’s upcoming movement.

The RPP has been actively advocating for the return of the monarchy since March 9.

However, internal divisions within the RPP are evident, with two factions emerging: one in favor of protesting by leaving the House of Representatives, and the other supporting protests from within the House.

The RPP holds 14 seats in the House of Representatives and also has MPs in various provinces, with strong support for abolishing the provincial system.
