KATHMANDU: Medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai has been arrested again.
The Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police arrested Prasai on Monday morning following a complaint filed by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Rachana Khatiwada.
According to the Bureau, Prasai was arrested for allegedly making derogatory remarks on social media about martyr Rasik Khatiwada, the lawmaker’s son.
Khatiwada had broken down during a session of the House of Representatives while referring to Prasai’s social media remarks, in which he allegedly claimed that she had “traded her son’s corpse for the MP seat.”
Khatiwada subsequently filed a complaint with the Cyber Bureau, alleging that Prasai and others had made derogatory remarks about her and her family. The Bureau said Prasai was arrested based on the complaint for further investigation.
Prasai has been arrested several times in the past.
