Fire at Shangrila Timber Industry in Dang still not under control

DANG: The fire that broke out at Shangrila Ply Industry in Khaira, Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City-9, Dang, last night at 2 am is still not under control.

Chief District Officer of Dang, Krishna Prasad Lamsal, confirmed that the fire has not been fully extinguished yet.

Seven fire engines are currently at the site, with additional support from Ghorahi, Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City, Lamahi Municipality in Dang, Bansgadhi Municipality in Bardiya, Kohalpur Municipality in Banke, Shivaraj Municipality in Kapilvastu, and Rupandehi Municipality.

The fire has been difficult to control due to the large number of materials used in the ply industry, making it a slow and challenging process.

While there are nearby settlements, the risk to these areas has been minimized. The fire is estimated to have caused significant damage, though the exact value has not been determined yet.

The Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and local volunteers are actively working to manage the situation.
