Kathmandu metropolis distributes ambulances to rural municipalities



KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City has distributed ambulances to rural municipalities across the country, prioritizing remote and underserved areas.

According to Deepak Kumar KC, head of the city’s Health Department, 35 rural municipalities selected on the basis of set criteria received ambulances in the first phase on Tuesday.

Applications were invited from local governments, and ambulances were allocated following a transparent process, with priority given to areas lacking adequate health services.

KC confirmed that municipalities from all seven provinces were included in the distribution. Kathmandu Metropolitan City said the initiative aims to strengthen access to emergency health care in regions with limited facilities.
