Preparations in final stage for oath ceremony of newly elected MPs



KATHMANDU: Preparations to arrange a multipurpose hall at the new parliament building for the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected members of the House of Representatives of Nepal are in the final stage.

According to Babita Mishra, joint secretary at the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the arrangements are being made in the multipurpose hall as the construction of the main chamber of the House of Representatives inside the new parliament building has not yet been completed.

The hall has been arranged with the Speaker’s seat, with seating for ruling party members on the right side and opposition members on the left.

Necessary arrangements, including chairs and microphones, have already been completed. Installation of lights and painting work are also in the final phase.

Mishra said that, along with the oath-taking ceremony, the initial meetings of the House of Representatives will also be conducted temporarily from the multipurpose hall.

The oath of office and secrecy for the newly elected MPs is scheduled to take place on Chaitra 12.
