Education a vital right for people with disabilities: Minister Pant



LALITPUR: Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Raghuji Pant, has emphasized that access to education is crucial for empowering people with disabilities across all dimensions of life.

Speaking at an interaction program on “Policy Provision for Inclusive Education and Future Roadmap,” organized by the Education and Human Resources Development Centre today, Minister Pant stated that people with disabilities can outperform others if provided with equal opportunities.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring accessible education and healthcare services for persons with disabilities and pledged to reflect the needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities in future government policies.

The minister also stressed the importance of effective implementation of existing disability-related policies.

Gita Adhikari, member of the National Planning Commission, said the 16th Periodic Plan envisions 100% education access for all children.

She emphasized the importance of building human capital through education, calling for gender-responsive and inclusive education with a strong focus on quality.
