PM Karki vows to fulfill demands of Gen-Z martyrs’ families

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has affirmed that the government will not compromise on the demands put forth by the families of Gen-Z martyrs and protesters.

Speaking during a discussion held today with three groups—Gen-Z protesters, families of martyrs, and the injured—Prime Minister Karki stated that the agreement between the government and the movement has reached its final stage.

“A conclusion will be reached after consultation with the President regarding their demands,” she said. “The government will not compromise on the demands of Gen-Z protesters and martyrs. Please be assured that your demands will be fulfilled.”

During the meeting at Singha Durbar, all three groups emphasized the urgency of immediately signing the agreement, taking swift action against those responsible for oppression, and preventing what they described as attempts at a counter-revolution.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Karki urged the representatives to recognize that the government must work within constitutional and legal boundaries on certain issues.

She also encouraged them to prepare for participation in the upcoming elections and to pursue radical change through peaceful and democratic means, including by seeking a public mandate.
