Today marks the International Day to Honor Victims and Survivors of Terrorism

KATHMANDU: Today is observed as the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, a day recognized globally since 2017 at the initiative of the United Nations.

The day aims to honor and support the victims and survivors of terrorism, while promoting their human rights and ensuring their voices are heard.

Across the world, including at the United Nations, the day is marked by memorial events, tribute ceremonies, and initiatives to raise awareness about the impact of terrorism on individuals and communities.

Despite global condemnation of terrorism and the spread of hateful ideologies, thousands of innocent people continue to lose their lives each year. Many victims and survivors still face challenges in accessing justice, support, and recognition for their suffering.
