KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chair Rajendra Lingden and several other party leaders, who were detained for protesting inside Singha Durbar, have been released.
SP Apilraj Bohora of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, confirmed that all individuals taken into custody have now been freed.
Lingden, along with Vice Chair and Deputy Parliamentary Party Leader Buddhiman Tamang and Chief Whip Gyan Bahadur Shahi, was arrested on Sunday during a demonstration inside the government complex.
The protest involved distributing pamphlets demanding the release of those held in connection with the violent incident on March 28.
RPP lawmakers Dipak Bahadur Singh and Bina Lama were also present. The group had initially assembled at the RPP Parliamentary Party office for official work before beginning their protest.
Police intervened after informing the leaders that the area was restricted, but the demonstration continued despite the warning.
