Maoist Centre supports amending Constitution: party senior vice chair Shrestha



DHARAN: Senior vice chair of CPN (Maoist Centre), Narayan Kaji Shrestha, has said the party is in favour of an amendment to the Constitution.

During the party cadres’ meeting organised by the party’s Dharan sub metropolis committee here today, the former Deputy Prime Minister and the Home Minister said, “The CPN (Maoist Centre) supports amending the Constitution in a way that preserves its core principles while promoting the country’s interests and development.”

He went on to say that social and economic transformations are the foundations for prosperity and strengthening democracy.

An attention from all quarters is needed to implement the federal democratic republic by prioritizing social justice, good governance and prosperity.

Regarding the dispute in developing a cable car service in Pathibhara of Taplejung, the leader said it is a must to address the concerns of locals before implementing the project.  The dispute should be resolved addressed through a dialogue, he added.
