RPP to submit memo to CIAA demanding action against corruption

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is set to stage a protest and submit a memorandum to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Friday, demanding prompt action against rampant corruption.

According to RPP’s publicity department chief Mohan Basnet, a delegation led by party chairperson Rajendra Lingden will reach the CIAA central office in Tangal at 1:00 PM to hand over the memo.

“Large-scale corruption scandals are impossible without political protection and involvement,” said Basnet. “We are going to Tangal to draw the commission’s attention and exert pressure for swift investigation and action against all corruption cases. The party will stage a protest and submit a formal memorandum to the CIAA.”

Basnet added that the RPP’s central executive committee, in its meeting held on July 3, had decided to launch a nationwide anti-corruption campaign.

As part of this campaign, RPP plans to stage pressure-oriented actions at CIAA’s provincial offices, the Department of Money Laundering Investigation, and other anti-corruption bodies in the coming weeks.
