RASUWA: The death toll from Wednesday’s Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa has risen to 207, with bodies recovered from several districts along the river system.
According to the Nawalparasi East District Police, 62 bodies have been recovered in the district alone. Of them, 26 have been taken to seven hospitals, while 36 remain at the locations where they were found.
Police said two bodies have been recovered in Rasuwa, 12 in Nuwakot, 27 in Dhading, 69 in Chitwan, 20 in Gorkha, nine in Tanahun and six in Nawalparasi West.
Meanwhile, 33 people injured in the disaster are receiving treatment at various hospitals in Kathmandu, according to Police Headquarters. Of them, 19 are being treated at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, eight at the Trauma Centre, two at Bir Hospital, one at Birendra Military Hospital, two at Norvic Hospital and one at Manmohan Memorial Medical College and Teaching Hospital.
Search and rescue operations for the injured and missing people continued across the affected areas on Thursday.
