Birgunj returns to normalcy after communal tensions

BIRGUNJ: Life in Birgunj is gradually returning to normal following communal tensions that erupted during the Hanuman Jayanti procession last Saturday.

Thanks to the concerted efforts of the local administration, political parties, religious groups, and civil society, calm has been restored in the metropolitan area. The collaborative spirit and understanding shown by residents have played a key role in easing the situation.

An all-party meeting held on Wednesday, which included ward chairpersons, religious organizations, and representatives from the Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized the importance of maintaining social harmony.

Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal extended his gratitude to all those who helped restore peace, noting that restrictions on rallies and demonstrations, imposed since Monday, will soon be lifted.
