Indian laborer dies after assault at a brick kiln in Rupandehi



KATHMANDU: An Indian laborer working at New Kamana Brick Kiln in Hiraganj, Siyan Rural Municipality-7, Rupandehi, has died following an assault.

The deceased, identified as Nishthuri Kewat, approximately 40 years old and a resident of Gorakhpur, India, was reportedly beaten by Krishna Kewat, a 19-year-old tractor driver from Siyan-6, who worked at the same kiln.

Nishthuri sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Lumbini Provincial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday night, according to the District Police Office, Rupandehi.

Police have detained Krishna and are conducting further investigations into the incident.
